The Polaris Ranger has maintained its position as the #1 go-to workhorse utility UTV, partially thanks to Polaris’ tireless improvement of its vehicles, and also because the RZR has maintained an unbelievably strong lead in the sport UTV market despite constant competition. The impressive cab width and payload tied with the new 900 XP’s power plant make it an excellent choice for farmers, hunters and other enthusiasts. Of course, the beauty of purchasing a UTV is the ability to customize it to fit your every need. We’ve put together the most innovative recent Ranger parts to give you a few ideas of what’s out there.
The EMP Ranger Cab Back is made of 16 gauge steel powder-coated black with edges hemmed back twice. What makes this cab back so different from the others is the inclusion of two separate polycarbonate windows. The long window at the top gives a clear view of what’s behind the driver, and the narrower, deeper window below gives the driver an excellent view into the vehicle’s bed. The rest is thick gauge steel to maximize the cab back’s strength.
Speaking of the bed, there are literally dozens of storage packs and racks for the bed of the Ranger. The Diamondback Ranger Cargo Box Cover is made of the same familiar diamond plate used to make pickup truck toolboxes. It won’t rust, can be sealed for weather protection, and includes a keyed lock that will lock both the bed cover and the tailgate. You can haul up to 250 lbs on top, so you can even stand on it when hunting. The large top panel can be removed in seconds if you need to remove it to haul larger loads in the bed.
Dragonfire Racing is known for its race-tested UTV parts, but they have expanded into more utility-oriented parts as of late. The Rock Solid Receiver Winch mount is designed to mount a winch at the rear of the vehicle using any 2″ trailer hitch receiver. It’s made of rugged steel, can be ordered powder-coated in black or red, and can be used on any UTV< so if you don't own a Ranger you can use it anyway.
The Seizmik Versashield has always been our favorite windshield in terms of versatility. It comes in an upper and lower section, so you can run the vehicle with the lower windshield, the upper windshield, or both together for complete protection. The seam in the middle is minimized, so visual distortion is almost non-existent. The thick.220 impact resistant optical acrylic provides the driver excellent visual clarity, and Seizmik has one of the best reputations in the industry when it comes to standing behind their products.
With the proliferation of four-seat UTVs in the last few years, it’s obvious the average enthusiast is a family man interested in including his family in the off-road experience. If you’ve already got a standard cab vehicle and you’ve started a family or found it growing recently, no need to go out and buy a four-seater. With the Polaris Rear Cage Extension, you can add a jump seat and protect your rear passengers with the same wrap around protective cage as the rest of the vehicle.
No drilling is required for installation, and you can still use your vehicle’s dump bed!
The UTV aftermarket is exploding as quickly as the vehicle market itself, and no matter what add-on you’re looking for there’s a product out there to fit your needs.
